Growing up, I was always searching for meaning. Whether I knew it or not, I was constantly looking for something to give myself value. In my high school years, I began looking for this meaning in church. Though I was involved and attending church a great deal, something was still not clicking. At this time, I still had no idea who Jesus was or what he meant to my life. Going into college with a rocky foundation, I struggled greatly with my identity and worth during my freshman year. I was trying to be a better person and look like a Christian out of my own power, while constantly failing.
In His goodness, the Lord showed me that I did not have to earn His love or favor. Titus 3:4-5 tells us, “But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy.” During my time in college at Berry, God used the ministry of Campus Outreach to help show me this truth and grow into a deeper relationship with Christ. This gospel has transformed my heart and my desires. I long to know him more and share this great treasure with others.
